Comments:

Unused substitutes: Stuart Garden and Willis Francis This was Notts County's biggest win in the FA Cup since the beat Horsham 9-1 in the First Round on 29 November 1947. Their tally included hat-ticks from Tommy Lawton and Jackie Sewell.

Comments:

Unused substitutes: Philip Owers and James Chapman A number of sources recorded that Shildon defender Lee Hainsworth was replaced by Philip Owers (a 45 year-old goalkeeper) after 70 minutes. The match report on Shildon's offical web site confirmed that the correct substitute was Stephen Tobin. This was Shildon's first game in the 'proper' rounds of the FA Cup since 4 November 1961 when they lost 5-2 in a First Round tie at Oldham Athletic. Having first entered the competition in 1898, the Railwaymen have yet to knock out a Football League club.
