Unable to break in to the Manchester City side, Nick returned to Bournemouth for a month-long loan spell at the start of the 2000-01 campaign and appeared in a handful of games before returning to Maine Road.
Shortly afterwards, he went on loan again to Notts County having impressed assistant manager Gary Brazil during a previous spell at Meadow Lane and the deal became permanent in November.
He featured regularly in the Magpies defence either as a centre half or at right back where he gave some composed performances.
Nick joined Doncaster Rovers in July 2004 with a two-year contract.
He joined Grimsby Town in August 2006 in a three-year deal but was made available for transfer in May 2008.
Nick joined Rotherham United in August 2008 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2011 in May 2009.
He joined Morecambe in August 2011 with a two-year contract that was cancelled in April 2013.
