Barras enjoyed another successful season for Walsall in 2000-01 forming an effective partnership in the centre of defence with Andy Tillson.
Always ready to push forward he snatched a vital equaliser at Reading in April and then, in the Play-Off Final against the same opponents, he stirred the hearts of all Saddlers' supporters by trying to get back onto the pitch after being concussed during extra time.
He is a brave and hard-working central defender who combines aerial power with a useful touch on the floor.
Barras joined Notts County in August 2003 on a monthly basis due to the club being in administration. He moved on to Macclesfield Town in July 2004 in a one-year deal that was extended to June 2006 In June 2005. However, he was made available for transfer in October 2005.
Barras announced his retirement in January 2006 due to a hip injury.
