Promotion hopefuls Darlington completed their first Feethams win of the season despite being reduced to ten men for virtually all of the second half. Midfielder Stuart Elliott was dismissed by Hull referee Paul Robinson for a second bookable offence when he failed to retreat ten yards at a free kick. Elliott was also heavily involved in Darlo's early winner. His shot from distance was deflected by Dutch striker Tom Kaak for his first goal in English football. Argyle will have been disappointed that they couldn't build on their first win of the term at the weekend. Kevin Hodges' team showed plenty of enterprise. They could only muster two efforts on target though. Their best chance came ten minutes from time when Andy Collett collected Martin Phillips effort at the second attempt.
