Now in his second spell at Darlington this busy utility player featured in the majority of games in the first four months of last season before suffering a knee injury in the FA Cup tie at Luton in December. He spent some time out of action and failed to make a further appearance during the campaign. Although at his best on the left this skilful and adroit player can fulfil any number of roles in defence and midfield. Gary was released by Darlington in January 2002.
