Comments:

League position: 12th Unused substitutes: Mark Stallard and Nick Wroe Although some sources credited Barnsley's second goal after 24 minutes to Bobby Hassell, the club's official web site clearly identified the scorer as Michael Chopra, as follows: "Barnsley's stunning first half display was almost ripped to shreds by a Town comeback after the break albeit aided and abetted by a series of amazing and atrocious refereeing decisions but Michael Chopra netted his second hat-trick of the campaign to secure three much-needed points. "A great swinging cross from Bobby Hassell gave the Reds their second on 24 minutes as Chopra got the faintest of touches to glance the ball past Rachubka and into the far corner."
