Leicester vs Chelsea preview

Leicester City and Chelsea start this weekend’s Premier League action in the Saturday lunchtime kickoff at the King Power Stadium.

Both teams are looking good to qualify for next season’s Champions League, with a 14-point lead over Manchester United in fifth, with 14 games to play.

Chelsea aren’t so assured with their inconsistent form of late, but have been helped out by the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal all failing to capitalise on their dropped points throughout the season.

When these two met at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season it was the second game of the campaign and Frank Lampard’s first at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea boss. The match ended 1-1 but the visitors edged the performance that day.

The bookmakers aren’t so sure if either side are going to win this one either – with little in the odds. Leicester are 8/5 to win and Chelsea 31/20. If you use one of the Betfred promo codes 2020 you’ll be betting risk free, so if you’re confident you can correctly predict the winner then the odds will provide a great return.

Leicester vs Chelsea team news

Brendan Rodgers will be coming into this match with the much healthier squad. Midfielder Nampalys Mendy is the only absentee, as he has been for much of the season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will be without a few players. One of those is Christian Pulisic. The United States captain is expected to be on the sidelines for a few more weeks with a tendon injury.

Striker Tammy Abraham is also a doubt with an ankle injury. The England international is the club’s top scorer this season but would likely be replaced by Michy Batshuayi if he’s not fit.

Predicted Leicester Lineup (4-1-4-1): Kasper Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, Ben Chilwell; Wilfried Ndidi; Ayoze Perez, Youri Tielemans, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes; Jamie Vardy

Predicted Chelsea Lineup (4-3-3): Kepa Arrizabalaga; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Emerson Palmeiri; N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic; Callum Hudson-Odoi, Michy Batshuayi, Willian
