Inter Could be a Tough Nut to Crack for PSG

PSG struggled during the early part of the league phase, before rattling off three consecutive victories to progress to the knockout round play-off.

The remarkable comeback against Man City on Matchday 7 was a sign that things were beginning to click for the French club under manager Luis Enrique.

After sweeping past Brest in the play-off round, PSG have subsequently left three Premier League clubs trailing in their wake.

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been a standout performer for the Ligue 1 giants, making a series of important saves on the way to the final.

However, PSG have not been solely reliant on the Italian shot-stopper. They are defensively sound, while their midfield is one of the best in the competition.

PSG have also shrugged off the loss of forward Kylian Mbappe last summer and now look a more potent attacking threat without him.

While PSG are worthy favourites to win the Champions League for the first time, they could find Inter a tough nut to crack.

The Serie A side gave an early indicator of their title credentials by claiming a hard-fought goalless draw at Man City in their opening league phase game.

Inter subsequently won their next four games without conceding a goal, before slipping to a narrow defeat at Bayer Leverkusen.

They bounced back to win their final two matches to ease effortlessly into the knockout stage. They defeated Feyenoord in the round of 16 to set up a quarter-final tie against Bayern.

The Bundesliga champions were heavily fancied to win the tie, but Inter upset the odds to progress to a semi-final showdown against Barcelona.

The two sides produced two of the most thrilling Champions League games of all-time, and the Italian outfit once again defied expectations to book their place in the final.

Their ability to adapt to different game conditions should stand them in good stead against PSG in the final and they look a good bet to win the title for the fourth time.

Simone Inzaghi’s side came up short against Man City in the 2022/23 final, but can set the record straight by being crowned champions of Europe at the end of the month.
