Burnley vs Arsenal preview

Arsenal will be looking to build on their FA Cup win at Bournemouth on Monday night when they travel to Burnley this weekend.

The Clarets ended a four-game losing streak in the Premier League when they beat Leicester City 2-1 before winning 2-0 at Manchester United. But they were then eliminated in the FA Cup by Norwich City last weekend.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have drawn three straight in the Premier League before a convincing performance on the south coast at Bournemouth.

The Gunners are looking impressive going forward under Mikel Arteta but still have problems in defence.

Burnley have been tough to beat at Turf Moor under Sean Dyche over the years and don’t be surprised if they come away with a result from this one too.

The betting market does have Arsenal as the slight favourites at 21/20 but many would consider it a risky better considering the return isn’t huge. Others may prefer to take advantage of a Jackpotjoy promo code 2020 instead – a risk free bet.

Burnley vs Arsenal team news

Burnley defender Phil Bardsley may miss his third straight game with a back injury. Joey Gudmundsson is also a doubt with a hamstring injury. The Icelandic midfielder has only seen limited action this season due to injuries.

Ashley Barnes will miss a fifth straight game with a hernia – the biggest blow to Sean Dyche’s side. Jay Rodriguez is partnering Chris Wood in attack in his absence.

Mikel Arteta welcomes back David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from suspensions. Both will likely go back into the starting lineup, following an injury to Shkodran Mustafi on Monday, and the lack of form from Alexandre Lacazette.

Calum Chambers is a long-term absentee for the Gunners, whilst left-backs Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac continue to join him on the sidelines.

Reiss Nelson is the only other absentee that Arteta has to deal with for Sunday.

Predicted Burnley Lineup (4-4-2): Nick Pope; Matthew Lowton, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Jeff Hendrick, Ashley Westwood, Jack Cork, Dwight McNeil; Chris Wood, Jay Rodriguez

Predicted Arsenal Lineup (4-3-3): Bernd Leno; Hector Bellerin, David Luiz, Sokratis, Bukayo Saka; Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka; Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang; Alexandre Lacazette

Burnley vs Arsenal prediction

A couple of weeks ago this looked like a good matchup for Arsenal, but Burnley have won back-to-back Premier League matches versus teams in the top five.

The Gunners’ leaky defence could be their undoing in this match but going forward they look capable of scoring in every game between now and the end of the season.
