Betting on Football 2019: What to expect

Betting on Football is the largest sports betting event bringing together international operators and decision makers to address recent opportunities and issues in the industry. In 2019, the event is returning to Chelsea’s home ground, Stamford Bridge in London UK. The sixth installment of the conference is organized by the Sports Betting Community (SBC) an organisation synonymous with sports betting over the last decade.

When will the event begin?

Making its return to Stamford Bridge, the Betting on Football conference 2019 will begin on Tuesday, March 19th and end on Friday, March 22nd. The four-day international conference will be opened by Franco Baresi, an Italian central defender who performed with great distinction for AC Milan. It’s fitting that the sixth edition of the conference will be opened by Baresi, a celebrated footballer whose number 6 shirt was retired by his club.

The legendary AC Milan Player will deliver the Captain’s address on sports leadership, marking the official kick-off to the leadership and vision track scheduled for March 20th. Baresi will also be addressing questions from Jaap Kalma, SBC’s Business Development Director.

What to expect from the conference

Aside from the leadership and vision track scheduled for March 20th, the football betting conference will feature tracks on global markets, the science of compliance, betting on the market and betting on products in focus and innovation. Football fans can place their wagers on different teams at Betway while awaiting the event.

The conference will include expert forums on digital marketing, payments, European lotteries and sponsorship. Major lottery operators from over 17 jurisdictions across the globe are expected to attend the conference. The European Lotteries Association (EL) will also host a meeting for its Sports Working Group members during the first day of the conference.

EL’s Sports Working Group includes representatives from Veikkaus, Danske Spil, Hrvatska Lutrija, FDJ, Lottomatica, Sisal, OPAP, SAZKA, LOTTO Bayern, SZerencsejatek Zrt, Svenska Spel, Norsk Tipping, and Loterie Nationale.

According to SBC Events, the Betting on Football conference organizers, this year’s focus goes beyond football and betting. The team revealed that they received requests from various operators to address various relevant topics. That includes leadership, compliance, global and emerging markets, sponsorship, digital marketing, payments, industry innovation, integrity and problem gambling and technology.

Event in numbers

For its sixth time, the Betting on Football conference will be returning to London at Stamford Bridge, the ideal intimate setting for 2,000 senior executives.  The event will be graced by 200 expert speakers in over 55 sessions with plenty of networking and business opportunities for affiliates, suppliers, organizations and sports clubs. About 40 exhibitors will also be showcasing their latest products during this four-day event.
