The 1-3-2-6 strategy has been used by roulette players for decades. Put simply, you adjust your stake depending on the results. This system makes using the sportsbooks featured on Match Center more fun and hopefully, it will make a positive difference to your bank balance.

The 1-3-2-6 strategy

• Step 1 – Find a 50/50 bet. If we’re talking football this will be a match result, over/under bet, both teams to score, any market that offers an even money bet can be used.
• Step 2 – Stake £5 on the 50/50 bet. If it loses, choose another and stake another £5. If it wins it is time to up the ante.
• Step 3 – Now you’ve won you will now bet 3x your £5 stake on the next bet. So £15 on another 50/50 bet. If it loses go back to Step 1.
• Step 4 – For the next 50/50 bet we’ll stake 2x our original stake, so stake £10. Should it lose, go back to Step 1.
• Step 5 – For our next bet, stake 6x your £5 stake. So £30 on an even money bet. Win or lose, go back to Step 1.

Budget

In our example above we used £5 stake. Depending on your budget you may stake more or less in Step 1. The £5 is an example, not the law.

The golden rule in sports betting is never to chase losses or bet more than you can afford to lose. It is a good idea to refer to your staking plan when deploying the 1-3-2-6 strategy.

Tips for making the strategy more effective

To make the strategy more effective consider the following:

• Work out your bets in advance – By looking at fixtures and markets you should be able to pick out several even money bets. Working in advance gives you time to consider the bet, do research and decide whether the even money bet is a good choice.
• Keep an eye on the odds – Odds can and do change so before you place your bet, check that it is still an even money bet.
• Understand the teams – Having some understanding of the two teams is essential. So if you find an even money bet on two teams you’ve studied you’ll be more likely to pick the win than an even money bet on two teams you know little about.
