When will the event take place?

The matches will start a couple of days before Thanksgiving and the final will be on 18 December. Soccer fans believe that there is no better way of ending the year with a victory.

USA’s opponents

After missing the 2018 World Cup, the USA is back. They will play against Iran, England and one of Scotland, Ukraine or Wales in Group B. The USA’s final Group game will be on 29 November against Iran which could decide whether they proceed to the knock-out stages.

Qatar is the host, so they automatically qualify for the Cup. The USA, Canada, and Mexico are also qualified but FIFA banned Russia, and it isn’t clear if Ukraine will participate.

One of the most common questions is the one about the favorites. The top four ranked by expert Erik King are the Netherlands, Argentina, Germany and Belgium. With so many strong teams, it is hard to predict the outcome of this tournament.

Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are some of the top favorite players who are sure to participate as Portugal and Argentina have both qualified.

Which countries will miss this year’s tournament? Italy will miss this year’s World Cup, as it did the last time. Also, Egypt and Norway have failed tp qualify.

Why will the Cup happen in November?

Sports enthusiasts know that the World Cup traditionally happens in July. However, this year we will see a change. The summer temperatures can get scorching hot in Qatar, so the authorities postponed the tournament to November despite Qatar building six new stadiums with cooling technology.
