UCL qualification could represent the start of a dynasty for Newcastle United

Newcastle United look likely to finish in the top four positions in the first full season since their takeover. Eddie Howe has transformed the side with the help of the added fortunes from the new owners. Newcastle could be set to compete in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in decades, and that could put them in an excellent position in the transfer market.

UCL football is vital to the project

UCL football is essential to Newcastle’s long-term project. The new owners came in hoping to help a historic club return to the glory days of the past. However, they would have probably never expected to reach Europe’s top table this early on.

While the north-east side has invested heavily already, much of the already existing squad has helped their European charge too. Howe has been the ideal man for the Magpies’ project – he has got the best out of players already at the club and the new signings. In outright markets for sports betting Zambia, Newcastle is currently favourited at 1/8 to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League. Bwin is a leading bookmaker that offers competitive odds on Europe’s top leagues, as well as many bonus offers. Newcastle’s push to reach the UCL seems all but over. Howe looks set to have the club way ahead of schedule in their long-term aims and ambitions. This could have huge positive implications in the future for the club.

Acquiring top-level talent

When Newcastle’s takeover was completed, there were huge questions about their ability to invest effectively. One issue was in relation to their then status as a club. Newcastle were battling relegation in the 2021/22 season, but Howe helped steer them to safety. Now that they are likely to play in the UCL they will have no issue attracting world-class talents to the club. Newcastle certainly has the backing of investment from their ownership. Howe and the current crop of players are making it possible to utilise those funds to secure top-level players from around Europe.

Another issue surrounding the takeover was in relation to financial fair play. Many people questioned how Newcastle could invest heavily, as FFP rules are strict in modern football. UCL revenue will provide them with a large organic source of finances for the club. This will heavily impact the club’s financial figures, which should allow them to spend much more in the transfer window without repercussions.

Newcastle has the financial backing and reputation of an enormous club. Their potential UCL qualification could be one of the most significant moments in the club’s history. Once they return to Europe’s elite, there may be no turning back. Revenue will increase massively, and Newcastle’s exciting project will progress to the highest European stage. Players all around the continent will surely be gunning to play for the Magpies. The club’s list of major honours is sure to grow during the next few years, as Howe’s team grows stronger and stronger.  UCL nights could be set to return to St James’ Park.  If Newcastle continue to improve at the same rate, then the potential is endless. Manchester City quickly transformed from an average club to challenging to become champions of Europe. Maybe Newcastle could experience a similar transformation.
