Sports bettors will be in their element later this month as the three finals of UEFA’s club competitions are staged in the space of 11 days.
English teams have reached the finals of three different European competitions in the same season for the first time, but only two of them are the bookmakers’ favourites to lift a trophy.
Arsenal will have their work cut out against Paris-Saint-Germain in the Champions League, but it should be a different story elsewhere.
Aston Villa face Freiburg in the Europa League and Crystal Palace meet Rayo Vallecano in the Europa Conference League. Both English teams are fancied to lift their respective trophies.
Plenty of punters will be clamouring to take advantage of the bwin sign-up offer from Best Betting Bonuses before wagering on each of the three games. But before you sign up, read on as we preview each of the finals and offer up our best bets for what promises to be three thrilling continental occasions.
Champions League – Paris Saint-Germain vs Arsenal – Budapest – May 30
PSG’s route to the final has followed a similar path to their journey last season and a similar outcome is on the cards on May 30.
The Ligue 1 club have needed to navigate an extra round in each of the last two years, but have built up steam as the competition progressed.
PSG edged past Monaco in the knockout round play-offs, before demolishing Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate in the round of 16.
A 4-0 aggregate success over Liverpool in the quarter-final set up a last four meeting with Bayern Munich, and PSG edged through after two thrilling matches.
They demonstrated their ability to mix things up against Bayern, defending resolutely and attacking with purpose when the opportunities arose.
By contrast, Arsenal have been functional rather than spectacular on their way to the final and could struggle to match PSG’s high-octane style.
The Gunners finished top of the league phase standings, before defeating Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP and Atletico Madrid in the knockout stage.
Odds of 13/20 for PSG to win the Champions League for the second consecutive season are a fair reflection of their chances and they are fancied to get the job done.
Europa League – Freiburg vs Aston Villa – Istanbul – May 20
Freiburg and Villa will meet for the first time in the Europa League final in Istanbul on May 20.
The Bundesliga side have made it to their first-ever continental final, while Villa are in their first UEFA final since winning the European Cup in 1982.
Villa manager Unai Emery has won this competition on four previous occasions with Sevilla (2013/14, 2014/15 & 2015/16) and Villarreal (2020/21).
He guided Villa to second place in the opening phase, before guiding them to victories over Lille, Bologna and Nottingham Forest.
The manner of Villa’s performance in the second leg of their semi-final against Forest highlighted why they will be a tough nut to crack in Istanbul.
Emery’s team produced a power-packed display, with captain John McGinn leading the way on a night when Villa Park was rocking.
Freiburg ended the league phase seventh in the standings before defeating Genk, Celta Vigo and Braga in the knockout stage.
However, Villa are a cut above any of the teams Freiburg have faced in the competition and are a good bet to justify odds of 1/3 to win the final.
Europa Conference League – Crystal Palace vs Rayo Vallecano – Leipzig – May 27
Palace and Vallecano will meet for the first time having qualified for their first UEFA finals in only their second continental campaigns.
The Eagles were hit and miss during the league stage, finishing tenth in standings but have stepped things up during the knockout phase.
They have defeated HSK Zrinjski Mostar, AEK Larnaca, Fiorentina and Shakhtar Donetsk to secure a place in the final in Leipzig on May 27.
Palace did not want to be in the competition after initially qualifying for the Europa League before being demoted due to a breach of UEFA multi club ownership regulations.
That factor appears to have served as motivation during the campaign and it will be no surprise if they complete the job by defeating the La Liga side.
Vallecano finished fifth in the opening phase before edging past Samsunspor, AEK Athens and Strasbourg in the knockout stage.
They have been pushed hard in each of those ties, and may find it difficult to upset the odds against Oliver Glasner’s side.
Palace are rated as 4/9 shots to win the Europa Conference League and are fancied to be the second English team to lift a European trophy this season.
