Premier League Matchday 26 predictions

Another exciting Premier League weekend is waiting in the wings as we take a look at what’s coming on Matchday 26.

From Saturday’s real clash of titans at the Etihad to Brendan Rodgers’ last-ditch attempt to get his lowly Leicester City side back on the rails, there is plenty to look forward to this Premier League weekend.

And if you are interested in winning prizes while predicting football results (or results for any other sport), consider the JohnnyBet Tipster League – a free-to-join tipping league that pits you against other tipsters to predict the outcomes of events, similar to how you would bet using odds at a bookmaker. In each league, the one with the highest number of correct predictions wins.

But before you head off to win cash prizes, here are our weekend predictions to help you get started.

West Ham United vs Newcastle United

Saturday’s Premier League action kicks off at the London Stadium as underperforming West Ham United take on a resurgent Newcastle United side.

After going winless in three of their last four league outings (D1, L2), the Hammers will be looking to find their feet against the relegation-battling Magpies, who have won three straight top-flight games ahead of this trip.

Arsenal vs Brentford

Seeking revenge following a dreadful 2-0 defeat in their first-ever Premier League encounter earlier in the season, Arsenal entertain bottom-half Brentford at the Emirates.

While the Gunners snapped a two-game winless league streak with a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton last time out, the Bees head into proceedings on a run of six Premier League matches without a win (D1, L5).

Aston Villa vs Watford

Mid-table Aston Villa are desperate to hit the ground running against new boss Steven Gerrard, and Watford’s visit to Villa Park on Saturday could come in handy.

Despite spending big this season, the Lions are hovering in 12th, while the Hornets appear to be sinking without a trace after winning none of their last 11 league fixtures (D2, L9).

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Burnley

After a 2-0 midweek defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford halted Brighton’s run of seven league games without losing (W3, D4), rock-bottom Burnley could fall victim to Graham Potter’s bounce-back ambitions.

However, the Seagulls have won none of their four previous Premier League meetings with the Clarets at the Amex Stadium (D3, L1), scoring a measly average of 0.5 goals per game in the process.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Selhurst Park plays host to an all-London Premier League match-up between out-of-sorts Crystal Palace and genuine top-four contenders Chelsea.

Fresh from conquering the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, Thomas Tuchel’s team will feel confident about their chances of posting their ninth consecutive top-flight win over the Eagles.

Liverpool vs Norwich City

Liverpool’s unrelenting pursuit of table-topping Manchester City continues on Saturday as they welcome relegation-threatened Norwich City to Anfield.

Spirits will be high in the Reds camp following a clear-cut 2-0 first-leg triumph over Inter Milan in midweek Champions League action, with Mohamed Salah and co also riding on a four-game winning league streak. One of the easier Premier League predictions to make this weekend.

Southampton vs Everton

St Mary’s Stadium is the venue as Southampton and Everton go head-to-head in an enthralling Premier League fixture that could prove decisive to the visitors’ survival hopes.

New manager Frank Lampard broke Everton’s disastrous six-game winless league run (D1, L5) with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Leeds United last time out to keep his side four points clear of the drop zone.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

A mouth-watering showdown between pacesetters Man City and out-of-form Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad will serve to close Saturday’s Premier League action out.

Antonio Conte’s managerial reign in north London got off to a flying start (W6, D3), but Spurs have since lost three consecutive league matches by an aggregate score of 7-2. Another City win seems likely, but this is the sort of games Conte was brought in to influence and win.

Leeds United vs Manchester United

Keen to build on a 2-0 midweek win over Brighton, Man United head to Elland Road to face out-of-sorts Leeds in a must-win Premier League clash.

Despite reclaiming a coveted fourth place in the standings, the Red Devils can ill-afford to rest on their laurels as they are not even close to getting the job done by any stretch of the imagination.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester City

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ top-four credentials will be on the line when they lock horns with Leicester at Molineux in the final fixture of Matchday 26.

The Foxes’ faint hopes of securing a European finish come May seem to be already dead in the water following a heartbreaking 2-2 home draw with West Ham last time out.
