Who Will Win The 2025/26 PL Title?
As we said, the season ahead of us has all the makings of a theatrical one. Unlike in some previous years, all top teams are entering the season with the same head coaches. They’re stable, have a good roster, and have made improvements during the summer. So, who are the teams that will most likely win the Premier League Title in the 2025/26 season. Liverpool
The defending champions are in an ideal position to make history. After winning the trophy last season they are once again on an excellent trajectory. Liverpool hasn’t won back-to-back titles in ages, never in the PL, and the 2025/26 season might be a chance to rewrite the history of English football. Their team is outstanding. Jürgen Klopp has left an excellent team for Arne Slot to work with. The Dutchman continued where the German left off, and the results were impressive. The performances of mesmerising Mohamed Salah powered a dominant run last season. The Egyptian superstar will once again lead Liverpool towards glory, but this time around the team has been made stronger during the summer like never before. Liverpool already boasts one of the more quality sides in the PL with the likes of Van Dijk, Konate, Alison, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Nunez, and Gravenberch among many others. During the summer, the Reds have opened the war chest and added Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and are rumoured to be trailing Alexander Isak. The Merseyside team are powerful up front and solid at the back, with their engine being in the midfield. The odds on Liverpool winning the league are set at 2.75 at the moment and you’d be wise to take on those odds.
Arsenal
The Gunners are in the now or never situation. Their odds for winning the 2025/26 PL title reflect this notion. At 3.25, Arsenal is right behind Liverpool in terms of odds for the final success. They’ve been on the brink of winning the league for seasons now, but failing each time. Mikel Arteta has done an amazing job, but to justify the trust of the fans and the Arsenal board he needs to win the title, and this year is their best chance. Why do we say this? Well, Arsenal has been solid defensively with plenty of creativity in the midfield. Their standout players such as Gabriel, Saka, White, Saliba, Odegaard, and Rice have done a good job in making Arsenal one of the three best teams in the league. What was lacking was performance in front of the goal. This year, they’ve come out and addressed that matter. Viktor Gyokeres is the new name in town and the Swedish powerhouse was moving mountains in Portugal and the same is expected of him in London. With the addition of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, and Cristhian Mosquera, they look poised to be good at every position. The title will be decided between Liverpool and Arsenal. Mark our words today.
Manchester City
With City, it all comes down to Pep Guardiola. The Citizens have been dominating the league for years now. Yet, with the demise of the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson, Mahrez, Gundogan, Stones, and Kyle Walker, the team has lost some of its killer instinct. Pep wasn’t sleepy during the summer, and you could even argue that they’ve been preparing for this season even during the winter transfer window. Last year, with their worst season in years they managed to finish third. The team fell apart once Rodri got injured, and now with the Spaniard at full power once again, we shouldn’t write off City just yet. While all eyes have been on Liverpool and Arsenal during the summer, Manchester City has had a fantastic transfer summer, albeit a quiet one. Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, James Trafford, and Sverre Nypan have joined and are ready to make City a force to be reckoned with once again. When you know that Haaland, Doku, Grealish, Dias, Gundo, Ake, Gvardiol, Nico, and Silva will be extra motivated to make amends for the last year, it is hard to look past City to make it to the title once again with their odds being set at 4.25 they’re worth a try at least.
Chelsea
The London Blues are still going through a rebuild, but they have shown last year that they can get in the fight with the big boys. Chelsea has played some nice football under Enzo Maresca, and with almost unlimited budget they’ve been remodelling their team year in year out under Todd Boehly. Their odds are set at 10.00, and as dark horses you need to consider Chelsea as one of the teams that could surprise everyone. One of the people who agrees with us is the former Manchester City vedette. In an exclusive interview with stake.com Aguero spoke on Cole Palmer: ” Many players left their mark, but Cole Palmer was clearly the standout for his performance in the final. Two goals and one assist, on PSG no less. Though I would be remiss not to mention other folks with brilliant performances like Enzo Fernandez, Donarumma or Vitinha. ” In addition to Palmer, Chelsea has a plethora of amazing players all of which can make a difference on the day such as Enzo Fernandez, Pedro Neto, Reece James, Caicedo Moises, and Nkunku. While not among the top 3 favourites to win it all, they’re right up there with the best.
Who Will Win Premier League Golden Boot in 2025/26?
The Premier League has been the best football league in the world for some time now. Yet, in the past, the best goal scorers have played abroad, and we’re talking about the likes of CR7, Messi, Mbappe, and a few others. Now that the legends of the past are no longer in their prime and outside of Europe, PL has arguably the best goal scorers in the world and it is not even a conversation worth having. So, who is taking home the coveted Golden Boot?
Viktor Gyokeres
Yes, we know. He is a new name in the league and it will take him some time to adapt. Yet, we are not underestimating Viktor as many do. His numbers were astronomical in Portugal. With only a fraction of those, he will be a top dog in the PL. If you plan to bet on Premier League, bet freely on Gyokeres scoring at will. Talking to Stake, Kun Aguero said about Gyokeres: ” A single signing, no matter how strong, can’t guarantee a trophy. It can improve a team, though, and Arteta has done well on that project so far. ” While that’s true, with the efficiency Arsenal was lacking in the past upfront, we think that the dam is going to be opened with the big Swede.
Erling Haaland
The Norwegian striker is one of the best in what he does scoring goals. While he will score plenty in the coming year, we believe that the current City is not as fluid as they were in the past and that it will take some time for new teammates to rise to Haaland’s level. While Pep works on oiling his Manchester Blue machine the last of his worries is going to be a stat pad for Erling. His numbers will suffer next year, more than they did the previous one, and we can see him falling behind his Scandinavian nemesis, Gyokeres.
Mo Salah
It’s been said for years that age will catch up to Salah sooner rather than later. Yet, the Pharaoh has persisted so far. Last year, he delivered one of the most clinical performances the PL has ever seen. Will that be the case this season? We think not. While Liverpool has caved in on Salah’s contract demands, and gave him the biggest contract in the history of the club, they’ve also been actively looking to make their team better and not to be so reliant on the Egyptian. With Wirtz and Ekitike in the team, he will no longer be the main team. If the rumoured Isak transfer happens, it will be hard to imagine Salah repeating the last year’s numbers.
Alexander Isak
Here’s an interesting one. Isak had a good season last year, and has added his name to the top echelon of PL strikers. He will continue in the same vein. The only question that remains is whether he will do it in the Newcastle or Liverpool short. Either way we can see him raking up the numbers compared to what he achieved last year. Yet, if you plan to wager on Stake.com on the PL goal scorers, we believe that Isak is going to have better numbers if he remains with the Magpies than he would if he moves to Merseyside.
The Relegation Scrape
For many people, the relegation battles in the PL are more interesting than the title race. Last season, that was not the case as all three teams that were promoted from the Championship went back. This year, it already appears that we will have a different story on our hands. Sunderland has already gone out of its way in the transfer market to ensure that the relegation tale is not theirs in the 2025/26 PL season. The likes of Xhaka, Adingra, Talbi, Reinildo, Diarra, and LeFee almost guarantee survival.
Leeds had no business to drop a few seasons ago, and now that they’ve back, with a quality coach and roster, they look confident to stay in the PL for the foreseeable future. With Ampadu and Rodon leading the way from the back and Gnonto and Piroe as forwards, Daniel Farke already has plenty to work with. Also, Leeds are yet to make a splash in the transfer market. While not in our top three to drop to the Championship, if not reinforced in the next few weeks, Leeds could find themselves fighting for survival.
The team we can see going back is Burnley. It is hard to see what’s different in the quality of their team compared to two years ago when Vincent Kompany was in charge, and thus relegation is meant for them once again. The same can be said for Brentford who have lost their manager, Thomas Frank after years in charge, and their best players in Mbeumo and Norgaard with him. With Wissa at the gates looking to leave, Brentford might be heading down to the Championship. Wolverhampton is on the same path. Without any marquee signings and with no real quality in the squad they are poised to drop down a tier. The only reason why they survived last season was the abysmal performances from Leicester, Ipswich, and Southampton.
With less than two weeks to go till the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season, we have plenty to look for. The battles will occur on all fronts starting from title race to relegation, with half the league chasing European competitions. Stay tuned as the PL looks to deliver as never before.
