Premier League 2025/26 – Matchday 8 preview
Arsenal’s victory over West Ham was built on their fourth clean sheet of the season and that defensive solidity could serve them well this term.
While the Gunners will head to Fulham in a buoyant mood after moving to the top of the table, they would be well advised not to take their opponents lightly.
Arsenal had failed to beat Fulham in their three previous games prior to their narrow 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium in April.
Marco Silva’s side have struggled to produce their best form this season, but generally raise their game whenever they face the Gunners.
Elsewhere, Manchester City will hope to continue their excellent run of recent form when they welcome Everton to the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in their last seven outings in all competitions and appear to be returning to the sort of form that helped them win four consecutive league titles.
The Toffees will be no pushovers having lost just twice in the league this season, but Man City look a good bet to keep up the pressure on their title rivals.
The clash between Nottingham Forest and Chelsea at the City Ground should also be worth watching given the current state of play at both clubs.
The Blues are on cloud nine following their 2-1 victory over Liverpool last weekend. They are now seventh in the table, just five points adrift of Arsenal.
