Doolan was once again a hugely influential figure for Barnet in the 2000-01 season.
A tough tackling central midfield player who also distributes the ball well, his value to the Bees was shown at the turn of the year when the team had a disastrous run of results while he was sidelined with an ankle injury.
Any chances of the Underhill club reaching the Play-Offs rapidly disappeared and they never fully recovered resulting in their relegation from the Football League in May.
Having returned to the League with Doncaster Rovers, Doolan's contract at Belle Vue was extended to June 2005 in November 2003.
Doolan joined Blackpool in July 2005 with a one-year contract.
After a loan spell, Doolan joined Rochdale in January 2006 with a contract to June 2007.
