With Mansfield having switched their scheduled home fixture to Underhill, this was Barnet's first away game of the new season and their first defeat, just. With only one draw in their eight previous meetings, the spoils were set to be shared until York's Colin Alcide bagged an injury time winner. It was a vital strike for the struggling Minstermen as they collected a much-needed first victory of the campaign. Alcide linked with fellow subs Christian Fox and Barry Conlon to slide the ball past Lee Harrison into the bottom right-hand corner. Terry Dolan's charges had played the better football in the first half but failed to regain their dominance after the break. All that was forgiven after the dramatic finale.
