Five games to watch in April 2024

Premier League fans across the world are in for a treat this month, with the upcoming schedule packed with several eye-catching fixtures.

Issues at both ends of the table could become clearer during April, so read on as we look at some of the biggest matches taking place over the next few weeks.

Manchester United vs Liverpool – April 7

Fixtures involving Manchester United and Liverpool always attract a ton of interest in betting circles, and their latest clash at Old Trafford on April 7 is guaranteed to be no different.

Much like wagering on games on a casino platform, predicting the outcome of matches between these two footballing giants is no easy task.

The Red Devils are eager to finish a disappointing campaign with a flourish and would love nothing more than to derail Liverpool’s bid to win the title.

They knocked their big rivals out of the FA Cup last month and could be a good bet to secure another victory in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa – April 14

Arsenal will be gunning for revenge when Aston Villa visit the Emirates Stadium on April 14 having lost the reverse fixture in the Midlands during December.

Unai Emery’s side were full value for their victory on that occasion, dominating the midfield battle against a team that had rocked up at Villa Park in excellent form.

However, Villa have won just four league games at Arsenal since the turn of the century and will likely find it difficult to complete the double.

Arsenal can ill-afford any slip-ups as the title race reaches the business end and they will fancy their chances of recording an important victory here.

Arsenal vs Chelsea – April 23

Having been held to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in October, the reverse fixture against Chelsea on April 23 is another potential banana skin for Arsenal.

The Blues have underperformed this season under manager Mauricio Pochettino and could still finish in the bottom half of the table if they don’t improve.

While the recent 2-2 draw against Burnley highlighted their inconsistencies, Chelsea are undoubtedly capable of causing Arsenal problems at the Emirates.

This is another game the Gunners will expect to win, but they will have to be at their best to ensure they collect all three points.

Everton vs Liverpool – April 24

The Merseyside derby has not been kind to Everton in recent years, with Liverpool establishing themselves as the dominant force in this local rivalry.

Their latest meeting on April 24 could be crucial at both ends of the table as Everton are battling against relegation while Liverpool are firmly embroiled in the title race.

The Toffees have scored just once in their last six matches against Liverpool – a statistic which highlights the size of the task the face at Goodison Park.

However, Sean Dyche is sure to have his players fired up and the Reds would be well-advised not to think the result is a foregone conclusion.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal – April 28

The final ‘big game’ of the month is on April 28 as Tottenham Hotspur bid to throw a spanner in the works by scuppering Arsenal’s title hopes.

The two sides fought out a 2-2 draw at the Emirates in September, with Spurs showing excellent resolve to take a point after trailing twice in the game.

Tottenham have enjoyed a productive season under manager Ange Postecoglou and he will be eager for his team to demonstrate the progress they have made.

The Gunners triumphed in this corresponding fixture last term, but could struggle to repeat the feat against a team still challenging for a top-four finish.
