Stake have become the front-of-shirt sponsors for the 2025 season – a campaign in which Nublense competed in the Copa Libertadores for just the second time in their 109-year history.
The new partnership demonstrates Stake’s strong support for Latin American clubs as the company strives to expand its footprint in the region.
Stake’s Head of Sponsorship, Nikkita Thomas, said: “Nublense are a fantastic club, with a rich history and great fanbase.
“We saw a real underdog story last season as they made it to the final of Copa Chile, and their involvement in the Copa Libertadores is something we are very excited about.
“We are really passionate about expanding our footprint across Latin America, and to be a partner with one of Chile’s most prestigious teams is something we are proud of.”
New-look Nublense eager to impress
The 2024 Copa Chile finalists were eager to upset the odds on online sports betting platforms in South America’s biggest club tournament.
However, a 2-1 aggregate defeat against Uruguayan side Boston River ended their interest in the competition before the group stage started. The club will now focus on league matters.
Nublense’s link-up with Stake coincided with the start of the 2025 Chilean Primera Division campaign, which got underway in the middle of February.
After finishing ninth in the league last year, the club spent the pre-season revamping their squad in a bid to improve their fortunes.
Argentinian defender Pablo Calderon was signed from Deportivo Madryn and he will add some much-needed steel to the team’s backline.
Rodrigo Gonzalez (Magallanes) and Diego Sanhueza (CDF Vial) have also arrived at the club to boost their defensive options.
Martin Rodriguez (DC United), Gonzalo Sosa (Palestino), Esteban Valencia (Union La Calera), Federico Mateos (Universidad de Chile) are other noteworthy signings.
While the latest sport betting odds suggest Nublense face a tough task to challenge for the title, qualifying for one of the continental competitions should be within their reach.
They were defeated by Universidad de Chile in their opening game, before coming from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Deportes Limache.
Goals from Lucas Molina and Pedro Sanchez helped them record a 2-1 victory in their third outing against Everton in Vina del Mar.
The result moved them within a couple of points of the top seven and well-placed to build some momentum as the season progresses.
Stake deal will boost Nublense’s profile
While they narrowly missed out on making progress in the Copa Libertadores, the Red Devils should be capable of enjoying a productive season.
They finished runners-up in the Chilean Primera League in 2022 and will be eager to force their way back up the standings this time around.
The deal with Stake also provides the club with an opportunity to boost their profile, which will help to generate valuable revenue moving forward.
A longer run in the Copa Libertadores will be the ultimate aim for a club which has been starved of success on the continental stage since it was formed in 1916.
Francisco Mardones, the General Manager at Club Deportivo Nublense, says the link-up with the betting firm will help the club achieve its ambitions.

“This sponsorship will allow our club to continue its growth, reaching new audiences and offering more experiences to our fans.”
