Brief overview of the soccer correct score bet

In learning and understanding how to bet soccer and how to win at soccer bets, it is important to learn about correct score betting. This betting system is available at most books for just about every game worldwide.

Simply put, you are predicting the final score of a game or half. But of course, it isn’t that easy to do and there is no room for error.

Correct score bet types

Not only can you bet on the correct final score, but most books give multiple options for alternative bets in soccer betting. There are four common examples of this: Half Time Correct Score, Second Half Correct Score, Full-Time Correct Score, and Half Time/Full Time Correct Score.

First half correct score

This format works the same as the overall correct score, except that the only thing that matters is the first half. So if you bet LA Galaxy v. New York Red Bulls to be 1-1 at halftime, nothing that happens after halftime matters to your bet. As long as the score is 1-1 at half you will win. A wager on a 1-1 half could be +500, while a 2-0 first half is +1600 and a 2-2 first half is +2500.

Second half correct score

Another option for those who like live betting a game comes with the second half correct score. In this wager you are only concerned about what happens in the second half. So after watching the first half end 3-0, maybe you think the team in front will relax or sub off their stars and the other team rallies so you bet 2-0 second half. This gives another option and the odds will be posted in-game.

Full-time correct score

For example, let’s say that Real Madrid is playing Barcelona. You can bet for the game to end 0-0, 1-0, 1-1, 2-0, 2-1, etc. If you bet Real Madrid to win 1-0, any other score results in a lost wager.

The odds will change depending on the score you pick, so while a 1-0 wager may be +600, a 0-0 game moves to +1300 and a 2-0 game is +1600, and a 1-1 game is +400. These odds will all be different based on the matchup and the league.

How to bet correct score

As with any other smart betting, the key to correct score betting is to do your research and be prepared. Know which teams are strong goal-scoring teams and which teams are stronger on defense. Staying up on the news so you know which players are healthy and likely to play is vital to a correct score bet.

You never want to bet on a team like Manchester United to score multiple goals only to find out after the game starts that Cristiano Ronaldo is sick or injured and not playing. Weather can also have an impact on goals to be scored in soccer matches and can change the odds as well. This can be both a hindrance and a help for in-game betting as the weather can obviously change the impact it has on the game during a 90-minute contest.

A correct score bet can yield a high return but can also be a very stressful bet. Nothing is worse than having a 2-1 bet, and the game is 2-1 but a team scores in stoppage time or on a very late penalty kick.

These odds will fluctuate during the week as rosters and lineups are announced. So keep an eye on the line movement and get the best odds possible for the score that you think is going to happen in the game.
