5 best football matches to watch this weekend

The domestic football season is drawing to its close and Euro 2020 is just around the corner. Before that though, several titles, cups and relegations have to be sorted out and some of the most important fixtures make up part of an exciting round of games this weekend.

Here are our top five football matches to watch:

FA Cup Final

Chelsea face Leicester City at Wembley Stadium in Saturday’s FA Cup final. Both teams were in action midweek looking to secure a top four Premier League finish and Champions League football next season.

The West London club will head into the match as the evens favourites, looking to put more silverware in the cabinet, whilst Leicester will be looking to win their first-ever FA Cup, having lost the four previous finals they have been in. The Foxes are odds against to do so which gives great value if using a Bet365 bonus code.

Chelsea were able to rotate their big squad in losing at home to Arsenal midweek whilst Leicester used a strong team to win at Manchester United, a result which should be enough to see them qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Women’s Champions League Final

Gothenburg plays host to the women’s Champions League final on Sunday as Chelsea look to add to their Women’s Super League success by bringing home the most coveted trophy of them all.

Barcelona stand in their way after squeaking past Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals. Jennifer Hermoso is their star whilst Fran Kirby will be looking to fire the Blues to glory, having already won the domestic treble this season.

Atletico Madrid vs Osasuna

Atletico Madrid could wrap up the Spanish La Liga title as early as Sunday when they entertain Osasuna in their final home fixture of the 2020-21 campaign.

In what is expected to be a keenly-watched weekend for La Liga news, bictory for Diego Simeone’s side matched by Real Madrid failing to win at Athletic Club would secure a second title for the Argentinian manager. Otherwise, they’ll be going to relegation battling Real Valladolid on the final weekend to wrap it up.

Both Madrid giants would need to slip up in their final two games in order for Barcelona to get back in the title hunt. Ronald Koeman’s side had destiny in their own hands only a couple of weeks ago but have lost at home to Granada, been held 0-0 by Atletico Madrid and thrown away a 2-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Levante in three of their last four fixtures.

Juventus vs Internazionale

The biggest rivalry in Serie A news reconvenes at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening as Juventus play host to champions Internazionale. A 0-3 hammering by AC Milan last weekend saw Andrea Pirlo’s side drop out of the top four and now they need results to go their way if they’re to make next season’s Champions League.

That means the Old Lady need to beat Inter on Saturday and then either or both Napoli or AC Milan slip up. Both play on Sunday. The final round of fixtures is next weekend.

Juventus are also set to face Atalanta in the final of the Coppa Italia midweek.

Newcastle vs Manchester City

Manchester City have been crowned 2020-21 Premier League winners and now have two weeks to prepare for the Champions League final versus Chelsea.

Newcastle United have avoided relegation under Steve Bruce and would like to end their season on a high with a positive result against the champions heading into the final few fixtures of the season.

This fixture at St James’ Park kicks off the weekend of Premier League action on Friday night.
