Hadland joined Rochdale in the 2000 close season and featured regularly for the Third Division club in 2000-01 although he was often used from the subs bench. He came on for the final quarter of an hour of the opening game against Darlington and scored his first goal in senior football in only his third appearance when he netted the equaliser against Cardiff. A speedy winger, capable of mazy runs.
After being released by Brighton, Hadland re-joined his former Leyton Orient boss Tommy Taylor at Darlington on a monthly contract.
