Roberts was in superb form for Exeter City throughout 2000-01 and appeared in almost every game although his partners up front were chopped and changed.
Lightning fast and with a powerful shot, he was willing to take on defenders at every opportunity and finished as the club's second-top scorer.
He missed a number of games around the turn of the year due to a knee operation but was back in the starting line-up in a matter of weeks.
One of the highlights of his season was a superb double bagged against York City in the 3-1 win in September 2000.
Roberts was moved from a centre-forward role to playing behind the front players in the final matches of the campaign.
He joined Swindon Town in October 2004 with a contract to June 2007 that was extended to June 2009 in May 2007.
Roberts retired in September 2008 due to a knee injury.
