Van Heusden was first choice 'keeper at Exeter City in 2000-01 and endeared himself to the club's fans with a string of superb performances. Perhaps the highlight of his campaign was his display at Mansfield in February when he pulled off a pair of one-handed wonder saves to earn the Grecians a draw.
Van Heusden joined Mansfield Town in September 2002 in a short-term deal before returning to Devon with Torquay United on a non-contract basis. He subsequently agreed a deal up to June 2005.
