Mike Edwards

Edwards scored Hull City's first goal of 2000-01 at Blackpool and capped a fine season when he netted the final goal of their regular campaign to clinch a draw at Southend United and the Tigers' first-ever play-off qualification.

Initially played out of position at right wing back, he looked much more comfortable when employed as a right back after Tigers reverted to a back four.

His consistent performances were rewarded with a new three-year contract in March 2001.

However, City's current longest-serving player came to a settlement over the last year of his contract in March 2003.

He joined Colchester United with a contract to the end of the season.

Edwards, who joined Grimsby Town in August 2003 with a one-year contract, moved on to Notts County in July 2004 in a two-year deal that was extended to June 2008 in May 2006, to June 2010 in June 2008 and to June 2012 in June 2010.

Edwards joined Carlisle United in July 2012 with a two-year contract.

His contract at Notts County was extended to June 2015 in December 2014.
