Having spent time on loan with Mansfield Town in 1999-2000, Jon returned to Field Mill for a second loan spell in September 2000 as Stags' manager Billy Dearden attempted to plug a leaky defence.
His influence was immediately felt on his debut at Exeter City when the team recorded their first clean sheet of the season and he went on to produce a series of fine performances in his three months with the club.
Jonathan then returned to The Valley to continue his development with Charlton Athletic's reserves.
He is a commanding central defender with good pace and excellent distribution.
Jonathan is the nephew of the former Cardiff City striker Leo Fortune-West.
His contract at Sheffield United was extended to June 2010 in January 2010.
Jonathan re-joined Charlton Athletic in August 2010 with a four-month contract.
He joined Exeter City in March 2012 with a contract to June 2012.
Jonathan joined Dagenham & Redbridge in March 2013 with a contract to the end of the season.
