Bowling began the 2000-01 campaign as first choice 'keeper for Mansfield but lost his place early on to Bobby Mimms. He then suffered a broken toe in a domestic accident and after being released by the Stags he moved on to Conference club Kettering Town. A fine shot stopper who commands his area he had been Mansfield's regular goalkeeper for the previous six years.
