Gordon began 2000-01 in fine form at Lincoln City causing plenty of problems for opposing defenders and netting ten goals including two against Cardiff City at Ninian Park.

After the Imps were knocked out of the FA Cup, he was sold to Cardiff City for a club record fee and, following a couple of appearances from the subs' bench, he made the starting line-up for the home game with Exeter City on New Year's Day.

The Bluebirds won 6-1 and Gordon netted with a header, but he then spent much of the remainder of the campaign in the treatment room.

The problem was eventually diagnosed as a displaced joint and has now been rectified.

At his best, Gordon is a bustling striker who works hard to harass defenders and is good in the air.

Gordon joined Notts County in July 2004 with a two-year contract but was made available for transfer in October 2005 before the contract was cancelled in January 2006.
