Eddie Newton

Newton joined Barnet last August on a one-month contract but managed just two starts for the Bees without making any real impression on manager John Still and he was then released. He subsequently joined Hayes in December, featuring regularly for the Conference outfit before being released the following month. He then spent time training with Leyton Orient for whom he played an occasional reserve game without being offered a contract. Newton is an elegant and intelligent central midfield player who provides a steadying influence in the centre of the park.
