Perkins began last season as Chesterfield's first choice left back but soon lost his place to Rob Edwards, and made only occasional appearances before moving to Lincoln on a short-term contract in January where he was used as a squad player to fill in for injuries in the second half of the campaign. Perkins appeared in both full back positions and as a wide-left midfield man in his brief time at Sincil Bank. He showed good defensive qualities and the ability to push forward but was released in May.
