The Blades avoided losing their opening five games of a league season for the second time in their history; previously in League Division 1 in 1995-96. United were awarded a penalty after 84 minutes following a VAR review for a foul. Billy Sharp converted the spot kick to score their first goal in 368 minutes of play in the Premier League at Bramall Lane since the visit of Chelsea on 11 July 2020.

Comments:

League position: 19th Fulham had now taken 200 points from their 268 away games in the Premier League (won 39, lost 146). Aleksandar Mitrović missed a penalty after 57 minutes. He had now failed to convert four of the last ten penalties he had taken in all competitions for Newcastle United and Fulham. Ademola Lookman scored his first goal in 37 appearances in the Premier League since scoring on his debut in the division on 15 January 2017 for Everton against Manchester City.
