Comments:

League position: 1st After not conceding a goal for 574 minutes in the Premier League, leaders Leicester City then conceded two goals in less than three minutes. Manager Claudio Raneri selected the same starting XI for the sixth game in a row (all Premier League). It was the 14th time that City had been unchanged in the Premier League in this season Jamie Vardy was sent-off for the first time since playing for Fleetwood Town in the Conference (versus Kidderminster Harriers on 20 September 2011). Jamie Vardy became the second Leicester City player to score and be sent off in the same Premier League game (also David Lowe versus Wimbledon at Selhurst Park on 10 September 1994). [c/o OPTA] The Foxes had now won (11) and scored (nine) more penalties than any other team in this Premier League season.

Comments:

League position: 6th West Ham United were awarded a penalty in an away game in the Premier League for the first time since Mark Noble converted in a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers on 16 October 2010. As regular penalty-taker Mark Noble had been substituted, Andy Carroll scored only the second penalty of his club career. The Hammers had now lost four of their last 17 away games in the Premier League (won six).
