Comments:

League position: 18th Manager Craig Shakespeare was sacked the day after this game. Leicester City had now taken six points from their first eight games in this Premier League season; their lowest total at this stage since 2003-04. The Foxes had now won one of their last 11 games in the Premier League (lost six). Riyad Mahrez scored his first goal in his last 11 Premier League appearances since netting against Watford on 6 May 2017. Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare said: "When you have as much possession as we did and then go a goal down you are always worried how it affects the players, but we showed the spirit we have and the resilience and we deserved a goal. We could do with a win, make no mistake. I see them in training every day in terms of the quality and endeavour. Once we get that win then hopefully we will climb up the table."

League position: 10th West Bromwich Albion had now won two of their last 17 games in the Premier League (lost nine). Albion had now won one of their 13 away games in the Premier League in 2017 (lost seven). The Baggies had now won one of the 12 away games they had played in the Premier League on a Monday (lost six). West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis said: "Listen, the quality at times, the team is evolving. I think we've got better players in the team now, certainly from when I started. You expect them to settle a little bit better on the ball. The last 20 minutes when Leicester really threw everything at us, there were times we could have picked them off and the final pass and movement was poor."
