Comments:

League position: 2nd Leicester City had now lost consecutive home games in the Premier League for the first time since February 2019 and for the first time under manager Brendan Rodgers. Dennis Praet became the 14th player to score for the Foxes so far in this Premier League season; they had only once had more different scorers in a season in the division (16 in 2016-17). This was their first defeat in this Premier League season against a team outside of the top five (played 17, won 14). Jonny Evans scored after 89 minutes but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside decision.

Comments:

League position: 12th Since losing 9-0 against Leicester City at St Mary's Stadium on 25 October 2019, Southampton had now conceded 14 goals in their subsequent 12 games in the Premier League. The Saints became the second team to have a goal difference of minus eight from their two games against the same opponent in a season in the Premier League, and also take three points; previously Ipswich Town (won 3-2 and lost 9-0 against Manchester United in 1994-95). [c/o Richard Jolly] They became the first team to concede ten or more goals against the same opponent in a season in the Premier League since Everton against Arsenal in 2017-18 (ten goals). Southampton were awarded a penalty after 63 minutes but was reversed after a VAR review due to an offside decision.
