Comments:

League position: 12th Everton completed a run of four consecutive wins against Burnley for the first time since March 1970 when Alan Ball and John Hurst scored in a 2-1 win at Turf Moor in League Division One. Kevin Mirallas' winner was the Toffees' 100th goal in home league games against Burnley. Along with the top two (Chelsea and Arsenal), Everton remained as one of only three Premier League teams with an unbeaten home record in 2015. They side had now kept clean sheets in five of their last seven home games. Ross Barkley's tenth minute penalty was saved. It was the third spot-kick that the Toffees had failed to convert in the Premier League in this season with Ross being the fourth different taker after Leighton Baines, Romulu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas.

Comments:

League position: 20th Ashley Barnes became the first Burnley player to be sent-off since Michael Duff was dismissed in a League Championship game at Huddersfield Town on 30 November 2013. Burnley had now failed to score in six of their last seven Premier League matches. The Clarets drought since scoring a Premier League goal extended to 389 minutes (six hours and 29 minutes) since George Boyd's winner against Manchester City on 14 March.
