George Boyd, who played for Charlton Athletic during his youth career, joined Peterborough United in January 2007 with a contract to June 2011 that was extended to June 2013 in July 2010 before he was made available for transfer in April 2012.
After representing England at non-league level between 2005 and 2007, he played for Scotland B in 2009. His maternal grandfather was born in Glasgow.
After a loan spell, Boyd joined Hull City in July 2013 with a two-year contract.
He joined Burnley in September 2014 with a three-year contract.
George joined Sheffield Wednesday in July 2017 with a two-year contract.
