Comments:

Many sources credited Charlton Athletic's second goal after 51 minutes to Dale Stephens. However, as explained on the club's official web site (see below), the correct scorer was Scott Wagstaff: "Scott Wagstaff has voiced his disappointment at not being credited for his wonder strike against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday by numerous media outlets. "The winger volleyed home a sublime 25-yard strike in the 51st minute of the opening-day clash, before performing his trademark 'brick' celebration. "But his joy was cut short somewhat after various media resources incorrectly awarded the goal to Dale Stephens, who had already opened the scoring on his debut. "Wagstaff said: "I was so happy to score probably the best goal of my career, so to not get the goal given to me is pretty annoying and frustrating. Hopefully, they'll see the error of their ways soon." "Among the outlets who have incorrectly attributed the goal to Stephens were Sky Sports and the BBC, both of whom take their statistical information from the Press Association (PA)." NB Input amended 9 August 2011.
