Group A proved a very exciting group with Russia strong favourites to proceed after beating the Czech Republic 4-1. On matchday 3 however they were beaten by Greece whilst the Czechs beat the hosts Poland, so Russia were knocked out on head-to-head results.

On paper Group B is the strongest group and a shock is in store for the fans of the Netherlands, Germany or Portugal - all of whom believe the tournament title to be within their reach.

England may be able to make it out of this fairly easy group with a lot hanging on the first game against France. Unlikely the tournament winner will emerge from Group D, though France did manage to beat Germany recently.
