Having spent the best part of 16 months out injured, Wayne returned to the Wrexham squad in December 2000 and was on the verge of establishing himself in the team when he suffered a damaged cartilage at Bristol City towards the end of January.
Fortunately his return to fitness was much quicker this time and he was back playing in the Robins' Avon Insurance League side by the end of the season.
When free from injury he is a hard-working central midfield player or full back.
