Tom Bennett

Date of birth12 December 1969
Place of birthFalkirk
NationalityScottish
Weight74 kg
Height1.80 m
PositionMidfielder

Having enjoyed two successful loan spells at Walsall in the 1999-2000 season, Tom joined the Saddlers on a permanent basis in the summer and immediately took over as club captain.

Despite being held back by a persistent groin strain, he was inspirational in driving his side forward and he contributed six goals including a great drive in the win against Brentford.

A classy midfield player who tackles hard and passes the ball intelligently, he played a major role for the club in the play-offs and it was his in-swinging corner that led to the goal which set the Saddlers on their way to victory in the semi-final against Stoke City.

Tom signed a new one-year contract with Boston United in April 2004 but joined Kidderminster Harriers in November 2004 with a contract to the end of the season.
