Thompson joined the Halifax Town from Rotherham in July 2000 and had a good season in the heart of our midfield for the Shaymen. He scored twice including the opener in the 3-2 victory over Kidderminster last January which was the 100th senior goal of his career. Thompson has excellent distribution and has a well-earned reputation for scoring with free kicks from the edge of the box. He was released in the summer.
