This experienced left-sided defender joined Hearts shortly after the start of the 2001-02 campaign and has quickly settled in at Tynecastle. A veteran of more than 250 senior games, his career began in France with Auxerre where he was to spend a total of seven seasons. He was a member of the team that won the French cup in 1994 and then had spells with Paris St Germain and Rennes before joining Celtic in 1997. At Parkhead he was a member of the team that won a double of the Scottish League and League Cup in 1997-98 but then fell out of favour following the arrival of new boss Martin O'Neill.
