Stam, who previously played for De Graafschap, AFC 34 and AZ Alkmaar, joined Oldham Athletic in February 2005 with a three-month contract.
His Latics contract was extended to June 2008 in July 2007.
Stam joined Yeovil Town in July 2009 with a two-year contract.
After a loan spell, he joined Hereford United in July 2011 with a two-year contract.
