McVeigh found it difficult to break through into the Norwich City side in his first full season at Carrow Road in 2000-01, although he did enough to earn himself a year's extension to his contract.
A clever ball-playing striker, he has an excellent first touch and a sharpness in front of goal.
He also has the ability to create chances for his team-mates with his vision and incisive passing in the final third.
McVeigh's contract at Norwich City was extended to June 2007 in March 2006.
He joined Luton Town in August 2007 with a two-year contract but was made available for transfer in May 2008.
McVeigh re-joined Norwich City in July 2009 with a contract to June 2010.
