Edwards, who joined Altrincham from Knutsford, signed a new one-year deal with Wrexham in July 2003.
He then moved on to Blackpool with another one-year contract.
Edwards also joined Oldham Athletic on a one-year contract in July 2005.
He was made available for transfer by Port Vale in January 2008.
