Nick Daws joined Bury from Altrincham in 1992 and played well over 400 games for them.
Bury's captain and longest serving player was once again a virtual ever-present in the Shakers team in the 2000-01 campaign.
After a somewhat disappointing time the previous season, Nick seemed to have rediscovered his appetite for the game with a number of fine battling performances in central midfield.
He also played the occasional game at full back when required and pitched in with six goals in all - his best total for some time.
Nick joined Rotherham United in the summer of 2001, and was made available for transfer by the Millmoor club in November 2003.
However, his playing registration was retained after he was named the Millers' fitness coach.
