Ardley continued to feature regularly for Wimbledon in the 2000-01 campaign when he was mostly used in a right-sided midfield role, although he played some matches in a more central position where he proved very effective.
A set-piece specialist, he delivers powerful free kicks and accurate corners to set up chances for his colleagues.
Neil joined Cardiff City in March 2005 with a contract to the end of the season.
He joined Millwall in August 2006 in a two-year deal.
Ardley announced his retirement in August 2007.
