Robinson impressed for Hartlepool United in the 2000-01 pre-season matches and went on to make his Football League debut at Lincoln City on the opening day of the campaign.
He was given a short run in the first team before being replaced by the more experienced Sam Shilton and then found his opportunities somewhat limited.
The left back extended his contract at Stockport County to June 2007 in June 2006.
Robinson joined Torquay United in January 2007 with a contract to the end of the season.
